The Center was founded by Michael L. Steinberg, M.D. and Leopold T. Avallone, M.D. in 1988 as a practice devoted solely to providing technologically advanced radiation treatment to the Santa Monica and West Los Angeles communities. Lisa M. Chaiken with specialties in breast cancer, colon cancer and prostate cancer joined the Center in 1994. Santa Monica Cancer Treatment Center is a state of the art facility established with the goal of providing our patients with the most advanced proven methods of radiation treatment in a caring, patient-friendly environment.
